Hello! Welcome to this week’s self-care guidance for 23-29 September 2019.
You need physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energy to be your best you.
Self-care renews these energies and provides the fuel for an effective, resilience, energised, wise and meaningful life.
One of the signs that self-care is needed is that you’re sleep deprived. Perhaps you struggle to get to sleep, or you wake during the night. You certainly don’t feel rested when you get up in the morning. Feeling like this is a sign that it’s time to look at ways to improve your sleeping patterns.
This week’s stress management technique is: not everything can be changed – once we are able to accept that there are somethings we can’t change; it will become easier to move past those things. So start now by focusing on taking charge of what you can control.
When it comes to our sleeping patterns, we can control the environment, what time we go to bed, or finding some therapy or technique that will help you develop a good sleeping pattern. Some of my clients find monthly or bi-monthly regular treatments or weekly yoga classes help a lot.
This week’s essential oil reflection is Spikenard. Spikenard helps us when we feel overcome by grief and want to move towards resilience.

We experience grief in many different ways, the loss of relationships, jobs or finances, thoughts and beliefs, life setbacks or loneliness. We can even experience grief as we move in a wonderful new direction. New directions mean saying goodbye to old ways of doing things.
Spikenard helps us rebuild foundations after grief changes us. It helps us to connect with and call on our strength and resilience to nourish and settle the emotional heart.
Care for yourself as you grieve. Trust yourself to create conditions that will support and comfort you.
