Weekly Self-Care Guidance 21-27 October 2019

Welcome to this week’s Self-Care Guidance for 21st – 27th October 2019!
 
How do you sabotage your success?
 
It’s may not be a question you like to think about.  However, it is amazing how you, and I, can get in our own way. 
 
I read in a book yesterday that sometimes miracles happen when we reframing how we think about something.  This reframing of a situation brings big changes.
 
May Chang is the Aromatic Kinesiology essential oil for this week.  Its light, fresh, lemony scent helps you move from despair to success.
 
Emotional fitness is just as important as physical fitness. 
 
You can be focused on achieving your goals.  You think you’re doing everything you can to achieve them.  But nothing.  You feel stuck.  Then you sink into despair.
 
This is where emotional fitness comes in.  When you are emotionally fit, you’re able to sit with the despair.  You’re able to look it in the eye and ask, “What do you want to teach me?”
 
Sitting with despair can mean going for walks, journaling, getting a treatment, meditating, yoga or maybe counselling.   Anything that helps you connect with the inner stillness and peace that helps you sit with despair.
 
When you sit with despair, it will eventually give up its secret.  You find out what’s being holding you back.  Sometimes it’s a sense of inadequacy, low self-worth, lack of confidence, feeling overwhelmed, feeling isolated.  When you find out what’s been holding you back, hey presto!  You make the small changes needed to move forward, achieve your goals and there is your success.
 
I love the Blossoming Heart Affirmation for May Chang:
 
“I am the light of my own success.”
 
You may like to write it down and put it somewhere you can see it often.  In my experience, when I write it down and put it somewhere I can see it often, then it sinks in to a deeper level, to the heart level.
 
This week’s stress management technique is try a slow-moving class such as Tai-Chi or some types of yoga. These gently help relax the body, release tension and help build resilience to future stress
