Today is the last day of January! It’s hard to believe a month has gone by already. How has January been for you? Our minds are hardwired for survival so they automatically pay more attention to the negative stuff to find ways to protect us in the future. There is another part of your mind, the positive mind, that really wants to see the positive stuff! When we start to notice the positive things going on in our lives, our attitude and success in daily life changes. We begin to see that while we may not be where we want to be, there is still wonderful things going on. Take a pen and paper and make a list of the joyful moments. These can be moments so fleeting that we can miss them. What made you laugh? Who did you spend enjoyable time with? Where did you go that was enjoyable? What were the joyful moments at work? What were the joyful moments at home? Watch your mood lift as you list out the joyful moments of January. It’s a wonderful exercise to do just before bed, to catch the joy from the day and feel thankful for the good and positive stuff in your life.
