What lovely meditations we had this week! We connected with gratitude in the Lousiburgh meditation group yesterday. This evening in Castlebar we connected in with self-trust.
Bedtime is a wonderful time to connect in with gratitude. Developing an attitude of gratitude isn't just about feeling thankful to others. It's about feeling gratitude not yourself. What did you do today that you're thankful for? Maybe you managed to get out of bed today. Maybe you got through a challenging workday. Maybe you handled a situation at home really really well. Or maybe you just didn't have an extra biscuit with a cuppa. Feeling gratitude to ourselves is about feeling genuinely thankful about how well we survived the day. It's acknowledging that each day, we do a good job of living. No matter how small it seems, every little bit to be thankful to yourself for counts. You count.
Self-trust is the other thing that came up today. Say this to yourself, silently, "I trust myself". How does it make you feel? Does it cause your stomach to knot or does your body seize up with tension ? Trusting yourself means believing that you can show up for yourself. It means believing in your truth. It means believing in your abilities. Think about the things you feel grateful for about yourself. These are things you can trust about yourself. Trusting yourself leads to more confidence, calmness and peace. It takes practice and it's worth every second of practicing.
