Appreciating Routine

As we approach the last weeks of the summer, Back To School signs are up in shops as a reminder that, even for those of us without kids, that routine is on its way.  The change in routine can be nice for a few weeks.  Yet, there’s comfort in routine.  We know where we need to be and what time we need to be there.  Routine can get a bad name for being boring.  Yet it’s through routine that we settle into whatever we need to do to achieve our goals and dreams.
Sometimes we think no routine means we’re free.  Yet it’s through routine that we grow.  Like plants, our lives need a container to grow in and that container is routine. Through the routine of work, we create a container for challenge and earning money.  If we play sports, paint or have any hobbies, we need to create a container for them by making time for them.
Minding our minds involves personal development and growth.  By taking regular time to mind ourselves, we mind our mental health.  This routine can include daily or weekly exercise, menu planning, making time for walks, meditation, yoga, hobbies or massages.
